Our Story

The Prairie Star is situated on our family farm, where we’ve raised organic grains since 1983, believing that we have an opportunity and obligation to be good stewards of the land.  This venue was first established as a gathering place for our own family. As a legacy to my husband, a creative thinker and passionate teacher of philosophy, life and farming, we are now excited to share this amazing and special place with others.

Our property has deep family roots, established on the homestead farm of our great, great grandparents.  The original house foundation, chicken coop and root cellar have been preserved among the cactus and prairie flowers.  Undeniably, your heart will feel full as you make memories surrounded by the history and grandeur of nature, with your own family and friends.

The Prairie Star is an intimate event center, nestled under the blue skies and starry nights of Northeastern Colorado.  Here, we are reminded that it’s best to live simply, gather often with friends and family and find peace and beauty in nature …..   we are all connected.

Who we serve

This venue is available for weddings, family reunions and celebrations, wedding and baby showers, meetings, night-sky viewing, hunter lodging and any event that brings family and friends together. Featuring 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an expansive kitchen with bar seating, a dining room that seats 8, a cozy living room and an indoor garage/party area — come gather in the welcoming warmth and comfort of this beautiful new lodge.

We’re excited to offer special introductory rates for the 2025 wedding season! Dates are filling up fast, but we still have availability to make your special day unforgettable. The Prairie Star is perfect for intimate gatherings of 125 guests or fewer, and we also have stunning alternate sites for larger celebrations.
